Jean has been leading a group of friends, who have been discussing various issues from the Bible. Since she is going into the hospital tomorrow to have little Emma, she solicited her hubby, Yours Truly, to pinch hit for her this week. Apparently, there have been some difficult questions and issues related to the Christian faith that have come up in their discussions. So, I'll be leading the group this Sunday and attempting to, at the very least, generate some discussions about these issues.
I bring this to your attention (especially those of you around the Indianapolis area), because you may have some questions which either you've been wrestling with yourself, or which you have encountered in conversations with others. So with the permission of Jean's group, I wanted to extend any of you who are interested an official invitation to come and participate. It's going to be a very non-threatening, relaxed environment in which people can bring any question(s) they have.
The event will be going from 6:30-8:30p.m. (EST) in Avon on Indy's westside. (And I'm told there is supposed to be plenty of free food and drinks available.) If this is something of interest to you or someone you know, don't hesitate to let me know by email: john at thedailydetour dot com. That will help us get a sense of how many people may be there. It may be a small group of people or something larger. Either way is fine.
For those of you who have ever encountered difficult questions about the Christian faith, and are genuinely seeking answers to those questions, this will be a great opportunity to explore those issues further. Feel free to come on over...
