Jean, the boys, and I are off to day on an unexpected roadtrip--first to Minnesota today and then to Iowa tomorrow and back to Indiana on Thursday. We found out on Friday that her grandfather passed away (thus, the funeral up in MN and the burial in a family plot in IA). He was 92.
I have been asked to be one of the pallbearers, which is quite an honor. Her grandfather was a Full-bird Colonel in the U.S. Army (and served on General Douglas MacArthur's staff during WWII), so it will be a full military funeral. It should be a very interesting experience, particularly for the boys.
We covet your prayers as we head out the door on this trek--not only for safety in travel, but also as each family member goes through their own grieving process.
Also, my interactions on the blog may be a bit sporatic, as I don't know if/when I may have internet access. I've put some posts together and scheduled them for publishing over the next day or two, so hopefully, that will keep you all engaged during my absence.
