It's 4:34 a.m. Tuesday morning and I just got back home from the Cundiffs' house. Jerry called me earlier tonight around 12:10 a.m. to let me know that my dear friend, Christy, had finally lost her fight with cancer. It was a long battle whose end was all but inevitable. But no matter how much you try to prepare yourself for the end, it is still difficult to face.
How we miss the one who's gone. But as sad as it is to see someone you love pass away, we were talking about the peace that comes in knowing that for the Christian this life is not the end. So, we don't say, "Goodbye". Instead, we simply say, "I'll see you later."
The details for Christy's memorial service have not been finalized yet, but it looks like it will be this coming Saturday at the Light and Life church. As I have more details I will post them for those of you in the Indy area who know the Cundiffs and want to attend. In the meantime, we need to be continuing to pray for Jerry and the family as they go through this difficult grieving process, as well as, the many others whose lives were touch by Christy. The list is long and distinguished. :) We'll be seeing you, Christy!
I can't imagine how hard this would be if you DIDN'T have the hope that comes from Christ...
