Apparently, the Obama effect is even more serious than I thought. Here we are over a year (and change) away from the Democratic presidential primaries, and already Obama's fundraising prowess is causing significant strategy adjustments within the Hillary camp. The time has come to sound the bugle and bring in the calvary to do what Hillary herself is struggling to do, compete with Obama in tapping the coffers of the Democratic faithful. To pull out the Big Guns this early shows that Hillary & Co. recognize her fading star quality and must shore up the defenses to counteract the impact. (For more on the left-wing backlash against Hillary, see commentary at PowerLine.) They mean business and will not be vanquished.
Has anyone else begun to see the growing fissures in the Democratic structure? It's still a bit early to tell, but as supporters get tapped out, and the mounting pressures of the election draw near, the coming democratic implosion cannot be far behind.
